Information We Collect

Detail Relay collects information that helps us run a mobile detailing marketplace. This may include your name, email address, phone number, account details, service address, vehicle information, selected services, vehicle condition, water or access notes, appointment details, payment status, messages, support requests, reviews, photos, notification preferences, and information you provide through forms or account settings.

For detailers, we may also collect business profile details, service offerings, coverage areas, schedule and availability information, insurance-related materials, payout or tax-related information, application answers, performance history, customer communication records, and platform compliance records.

We may collect website and device information when you use the site or app, such as browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring pages, approximate location derived from technical data, and other usage signals that help us maintain, secure, and improve Detail Relay.

How We Use Information

We use information to create and manage accounts, check coverage, match customers with detailers, calculate pricing, schedule appointments, process payments, manage subscriptions, send booking updates, provide customer and detailer support, maintain service history, review service quality, and operate the platform.

We may also use information to improve Detail Relay, understand how people use the website and booking flow, personalize the user experience, test new features, troubleshoot technical issues, prevent fraud or misuse, enforce platform rules, respond to disputes or chargebacks, and meet legal, tax, compliance, payment processor, and safety obligations.

If you choose to receive marketing communications, we may use your contact information to send updates about Detail Relay, promotions, service availability, or related offerings. Transactional messages about accounts, bookings, payments, support, safety, or legal notices may still be sent even if you opt out of marketing messages.

Payments and Service Providers

Payment information is processed through third-party payment processors such as Stripe. Detail Relay does not directly store full credit card numbers.

Detail Relay may use service providers for hosting, analytics, email delivery, SMS delivery, payment processing, security, customer support, and operational tools. These providers may process information only as needed to provide services to Detail Relay.

Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

Detail Relay may use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember preferences, measure traffic, understand booking behavior, improve performance, protect accounts, and support advertising or retargeting campaigns.

We may work with analytics and advertising partners, including Google advertising services, to understand how people find and use Detail Relay and to show more relevant ads on other websites or platforms. These partners may use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies and controls.

You can usually adjust cookie settings through your browser. Some parts of the site may not work correctly if required cookies are blocked. Google also provides advertising controls through its own privacy and ad settings.

Sharing Information

We may share booking-related information between customers and assigned detailers so the service can be completed. This may include names, appointment times, service locations, vehicle details, access notes, service scope, messages, and approved price adjustments.

We may share information with vendors and service providers that help us operate Detail Relay, including payment processors, hosting providers, email and SMS providers, analytics tools, advertising platforms, security tools, support tools, insurance or compliance reviewers, and business operations systems.

We may also share information when required by law, to enforce our terms, to protect safety, to prevent fraud or off-platform misuse, to respond to disputes or chargebacks, to protect customers, detailers, Detail Relay, or others, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.

Detail Relay does not sell personal information.

Messages and Communications

Detail Relay may store in-app messages, SMS records, email delivery records, support notes, and appointment communications to operate the platform, support customers and detailers, investigate disputes, and maintain service quality.

Text Messaging

Detail Relay may send text messages about accounts, bookings, scheduling, appointment reminders, arrival or status updates, payments, support requests, safety or policy issues, service follow-ups, and other appointment information. Message frequency varies based on account and appointment activity. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to stop SMS messages or HELP for help. You may also contact support@detailrelay.com. Marketing messages are optional and separate from transactional service messages.

We do not share, sell, or otherwise provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent information to any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won't be shared with any third parties.

Service providers may process phone numbers and messaging consent only on Detail Relay's behalf to deliver requested communications and operate the platform; they may not use that information for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Third-Party Links and Services

Detail Relay may link to third-party websites, tools, payment pages, maps, app stores, social platforms, or partner services. We do not control those third parties, and their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

When you leave Detail Relay or interact with a third-party tool, you should review that provider's terms and privacy information before submitting personal information.

How We Protect Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. These safeguards may include access controls, secure configuration practices, encrypted connections where appropriate, restricted internal access, and vendor controls.

No website, app, payment system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are responsible for keeping account credentials confidential and for contacting Detail Relay if they believe an account or communication has been compromised.

Choices and Retention

Users may update certain account information and notification preferences inside the platform. Some transactional communications may still be necessary for active bookings, payment issues, safety issues, or legal notices.

Detail Relay keeps information as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this Policy, including account operation, booking history, dispute handling, fraud prevention, legal compliance, tax records, and business records.

Customers and detailers may request deletion of their Detail Relay account from account settings. When deletion is requested, the account enters a 30-day pending deletion period, and the user may sign back in during that time to cancel the deletion request before it is finalized.

After the pending deletion period ends, Detail Relay will delete, redact, or anonymize personal account information where reasonably possible. This may include name, contact information, saved addresses, saved vehicles, profile content, marketplace profile details, message contents, attachments, and login credentials.

Detail Relay may retain transaction, booking, payout, refund, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, audit, legal, and operational records where needed for legitimate business, compliance, dispute resolution, reporting, or legal purposes. When retained records reference a deleted account, the account may appear as Deleted customer, Deleted detailer, or Deleted user.

Messages After Account Deletion

After account deletion is finalized, messages and attachments associated with the deleted account may be redacted or removed. Conversation records may remain visible in limited historical, support, audit, or operational contexts, but the deleted user's personal message content will no longer be shown.

Children's Privacy

Detail Relay is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been submitted to Detail Relay, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Changes to This Policy

Detail Relay may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the platform, legal requirements, advertising tools, or business operations change. The Last Updated date shows when this page was most recently revised.

Continued use of Detail Relay after a policy update means the revised policy applies to your continued use of the platform.
